April 16, 2014 ZAHID BAIG Punjab Food Department (PFD) on Tuesday kicked off wheat procurement drive 2014 by starting distribution of gunny bags among wheat growers of Bahawalpur and Multan divisions. Cotton market: lean business activity amid post-holiday session

October 31, 2012: Mills and spinners showed no interest in fresh buying amid pos-holiday session, dealers said on the cotton market on Tuesday. October 24, 2012: Farmers are advised to harvest Kharif crops, including cotton in time so that sowing of Rabi crops, especially wheat may become possible without delays, Met office has said. Rice procurement by govt touches record level of 35.02 mn tonnes

NEW DELHI, Oct 22, 2012: Rice procurement by Centre reached record 35.02 million tonnes during the 2011-12 marketing year that ended last month, due to the risen buying in non-traditional states like Chattisgarh and Bihar after witnessed an all-time high output.
