Crackdown on fishermen using illegal nets to begin after Muharram

November 18, 2012 Karachi Fish Harbour Authority (KFHA) is likely to begin a crackdown against fishermen using illegal nets, officials said on Saturday. The authority had fixed August 1 as the deadline, urging fishermen to replace their existing nets with the approved ones. Fishermen call for upgrading harbour’s fire-fighting system

September 15, 2012: Fishermen on Friday urged the government to install a modern fire fighting system at fish harbour to assuage their fears after a recent inferno devastated a factory in the city in which over 250 labourers were burnt to death.
