Reservations of the people regarding gas quota issue would be communicated to the authorities concerned and efforts would also be expedited to resolve this issue at the earliest, said Amjad Mumtaz General Manager (GM) Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL).
He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), North zone here on Sunday. The delegation, headed by Rana Altaf Ahmed, senior vice-chairman PHMA, met him and expressed concern over the gas related problems that were also fomenting public protests.
He said that according to a reliable source Faisalabad is getting only 60-65 percent of its due share that has complicated problems for value-added textile industry in addition to making the life of domestic consumers miserable. Rana Altaf Ahmed demanded that Faisalabad should get its due share of quota proportionate to the gas shortage. “It is necessary to satisfy the perturbed people and to facilitate the value-added textile sector that was earning precious foreign exchange for the country and providing jobs to thousands of workers.
