Karachi PC organises ‘mango festival’

Pearl Continental (PC), Karachi, has organized the ‘Mango Festival’ to introduce popular and traditional fruit among foreign dignitaries. This was stated by PC General Manager Azeem Qureshi while talking to media at the festival here on Friday. He said the Karachi PC was displaying different varieties of mangoes and its dishes in the festival. “The purpose of the festival is to invite foreign dignitaries and Russian Consul General Oleg N. Avdeev is here to promote this popular fruit,” he said. Agriculture in Pakistan

Moreover, he said the management always tried to put Karachi PC forward in various platforms for the sake of innovative and entertainment activities.

Presiding over the event, Russian Consul General Oleg said that the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Russia was not more than $500 million, mainly depended on Pakistani orange and potatoes and chemicals from Russia. Agriculture in Pakistan

He said in the absence of scientific methods to preserve mangoes, the people of Russia was still unable to experience its real taste that made this fruit unpopular in the country. However, he amazed to see many mangoes’ varieties in the festival and declared ‘Langra mango’ was the best among all of the varieties. He said although mango was not popular in Russian, “we were working to make this fruit familiar among Russians” Business Recorder
