February 25, 2014: Recorder
Potato and Kinnow Growers and Exporters Association (PKGEA) Executive Member, Saadat Ijaz Qureshi has strongly protested over government’s decision of allowing only seven out of total 40 companies to export potatoes to Russia and claimed that the country has to bear loss of millions of rupees per annum because of this decision.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Saadat Ijaz Qureshi along with other members Dr Abdus Salam, Saleem Saddaruddin and Shabbir Ahmad claimed that Russia had demanded around 1.4 million tons of potatoes this year for which, 40 exporters expressed their eagerness but only seven of them were allowed to export. They urged the PM to immediately take notice of this injustice with potatoes exporters. They said that the association would launch strong protest in Islamabad besides approaching the courts.
