LAHORE (09-01-14): A delegation of technical experts of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kindom of Saudi Arabia visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore on Thursday and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha.
Led by Dr Osama, the delegation comprised Dr Hassan, Dr Waleed, Dr Ismael and Dr Abdul Waheed. Pakistan Poultry Association President Raza Mahmood Khursand, senior faculty members of the UVAS were also present in the meeting on the occasion.
The Vice-Chancellor briefed the delegation on academic, research and extension programs of the university. He said that university is working very closely with the industry and is providing health and extension services to the farmers on their doorsteps. He said that the university faculty members are conducting field-oriented applied research to help solve the problems in the field.
Prof Pasha said that need-based training programs are a regular feature of the UVAS to train the manpower for the livestock and allied sectors. The visiting dignitaries appreciated the academic, research and clinical services of the UVAS and its role in the development of livestock sector.
