Engro Fertiliser Limited hosted its fifth Annual Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) seminar in Karachi. The seminar was aimed at creating awareness among the participants on the best practices, innovative solutions and creative ideas on successful HSE compliance.
Each year, Engro Fertilisers – the only DuPont ‘Level 4.0’ industrial site in Asia, and winner of its Safety and Sustainability Award 2013 for Stakeholder Engagement for Sustainability, brings together industrial leaders and experts in HSE on a single platform to discuss best practices, ideas, success stories and experiences that enable us to continuously strive towards excellence in HSE.
This year, the seminar provided a valuable discourse on HSE practices and innovations in Pakistan, improvement in HSE, Environment Impact due to Aerosols, Emergency Response Systems, Food & Construction Safety, engaging Stakeholders for Sustainability, Behavioural Safety, World Bank’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Energy Management Systems and Sustainable Energy & Environment Footprint.
The event was graced by the Minister for Environment Sindh, Waqar Hussain Khan as the chief guest, and was well attended by the private sector leadership. Speaking at the occasion, Ruhail Mohammad, CEO Engro Fertilisers, said, “The growing challenges of environmental degradation, energy deficiency and rapidly increasing carbon footprints indicate an alarming need for a comprehensive strategy for HSE management.
