ISLAMABAD: The Spanish entrepreneurs and companies are keen to invest in various sectors of Pakistan economy including energy, infrastructure, construction, agriculture and livestock.

During a meeting with Pakistani delegation, the prominent private entrepreneurs of Spain under the auspices of Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain (CEOE) expressed the desire to collaborate with Pakistan in various fields of economy.

The CEOE has more than one million members belonging to cross section of business community, said a press statement issued by Ministry of Commerce here Monday.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Minister of State for Commerce and Textile Industry, Eng. Khurram Dastgir Khan during its visit to Spain.

The other delegation members included Qasim Niaz, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Dr. Sohail A. Safdar, Minister (Economic), Brussels while the Ambassador of Pakistan Rizwan-ul-Haq Mahmood also joined the delegation in Madrid, according to a press statement issued here Monday.

The Minister of State invited the Spanish companies for collaboration in various fields such as energy, infrastructure, construction, agriculture, and livestock.

The President of the CEOE, Jesus Banegas welcomed the delegation and expressed hope the both Spain and Pakistan will add to each other’s prosperity by increasing trade and economic links between the two countries.

The Minister of State also called on Jaime Carcia-Legaz Ponce, Secretary of State for Commerce and shared with him Pakistan’s commitment for trade liberalization and emphasized that Pakistan offers a flexible investment policy and Spanish companies can benefit from liberal investment incentives offered under this policy.

He also called on Gonzalo de Benito Secadades, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and discussed the importance of promoting trade and commercial linkages for strengthening of political ties.

The Spanish leaders assured that Spain was fully committed support Pakistan in its commercial endeavours.

The delegation also held meetings with senior members of various business companies and informed them about the investment incentives provided by Pakistan in various sectors. app
