A Meeting was held between PBIT and Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) in Rawalpindi on 23rd October 2013. Dr. Suhail Saleem, Director Projects represented PBIT while from PPA its Chairman Dr. Muhammad Aslam (CEO ISLAMABAD GROUP)was there. The agenda of the meeting was to improve and strengthening of the poultry sector of Pakistan and to enhance its exports. It was suggested that Banks need to be involved to facilitate poultry farmers for loan and diagnostic laboratories both Government & Private should be financed by the Government for strengthening and quality assurance. It was also suggested that Iran being a good market for Pakistan poultry exports, has not yet been tapped into and that Government should take necessary measures to resolve issues pertaining to it. It was also discussed that cultivation of crops related to poultry feed ingredients should be encouraged as it is expensive to import ingredients for poultry feed.
