Punjab government to convert diesel tube wells into biogas

Punjab government will convert 100,000 diesel fired tube wells to biogas in next five years across the province through extending a subsidy to the small growers in this regard. This was stated by the Punjab Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed during a meeting held with a delegation of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) on Thursday. Secretary Agriculture Punjab Dr Ijaz Munir, Senior Advisor FAO Dr Muhammad Hussein Bhatti and others were also present in the meeting.

The Minister said that PML-N government is focusing on small growers and for its welfare it introduced green tractor scheme and now going to introduce biogas and solar power projects. Courtesy: Business Recorder
