ISLAMABAD : The PPA on Thursday said that increase in the poultry prices products had been caused by recent floods and the trend would improve with improvement in the flood situation. “The upward trend in the prices of poultry products – chicken and eggs – is due to heavy rains which lashed various villages running poultry farms and damaged infrastructure creating supply and demand situation and causing increase in prices”, Dr Hassan Sarosh Akram, Chairman PPA, told APP here today.It may be mentioned here prices of chicken have increased to Rs.210 per kilogram in Punjab due to short supply because of floods across the country. Dr Sarosh expressed the hope that the prices the poultry products would come down as flood water recedes. He said the recent floods have damaged poultry farms.
