Lahore – Pakistan and Livestock and Dairy Development Department (L&DD), Govt. of the Punjab that a vibrant researcher, Dr. Muhammad Bilal Bin Majeed, has attended the 9th European Cytogenetics Conference, 2013 organized by the European Cytogeneticists Association (ECA) in Dublin – Ireland where he presented his M.Phil research. He has completed his M.Phil in 2012 from UVAS under the supervision of Professor Dr. Khalid Javed, a renowned Animal Geneticist. Dr. Bilal is currently working as Veterinary Officer (Health) at L&DD, Govt of the Punjab. His research work was on Clinical Cytogenetic investigations (chromosomal abnormalities) in cattle and buffalo. Pakistani Researcher

Despite very meager resources and lack of the state of the art equipment and technology, he produced such a quality work that it was evaluated by world renowned scientists and was selected for a fellowship in the value of €500 and a free registration for the conference (worth €400). He was the only researcher from Pakistan to attend this conference and was well appreciated for his work by the conference secretary and scientists from United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Russia and other countries. This research abstract has been published in Chromosome Research by Springer and was listed 2nd amongst the 10 research works selected for fellowship by the organizing committee. This is also noteworthy that he has managed travel and accommodation expenses on his own. Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (Vice Chancellor UVAS), Professor Dr. Khalid Javed (Chairman Livestock Production) and Dr. Nawaz Saeed (Director General, L&DD) appreciated him to represent UVAS and Pakistan at international level and congratulated him for this achievement and wished him Good Luck for future endeavors.
