Govt asked to help rice industry

KARACHI: The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises has said the Ministry of Commerce should take more effective measure to help Pakistan’s rice industry so that the country’s rice exports can become more competitive in the global market.

He called for official recognition of 386 as a permissible variety and urged the State Bank to direct banks to issue Form E for exports to Iran, Afghanistan and the Central Asian countries through the land route to discourage smuggling. Courtesy The News
