Travel The World And Learn About Agriculture
26 April 2013
People with a passion for agriculture and a desire to travel the world are encouraged to apply for the 2014 Nuffield Scholarships.
Nuffield Canada is accepting applications for its 2014 program, which includes three scholarships worth $15,000 each.
“The Nuffield Scholarship gives you an opportunity to choose a topic in agriculture that
you’re interested in, and go anywhere in the world to study it,” explains chair Barb
Stefanyshyn-Cote. “Lord Nuffield’s premise was that only by traveling would you be able to
see new things and experience new ideas and be able to bring them home to improve
agriculture in your country.”
Successful applicants are usually mid-career, with the ability to step away from their current duties as they must travel for a minimum of ten weeks.
“You may be involved in the extension side, the research side or you might be a primary producer. The scholarship is open to anyone who is enthusiastic and interested in learning more about their industry and then spreading that information around when they get back,” she explains.
