Growers are advised to stop harvesting their crops during rains, besides making it sure to protect the fodder and yield to avoid loss. “During the harvesting process, farmers are advised to be aware about the weather conditions and keep listening and watching carefully the weather advisories issued through radio and televisions,” the Metrological Office in its farmers advisory said.

It said the farmers are advised to harvest the fully matured wheat crop. It said growers of Southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan should early complete sowing of cotton so that the existing soil moisture could fully be utilised. They should prepare the fields for the coming Kharif crops in time, the office added. Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However rainfall/ thunderstorm may occur in isolated places till April 27.
