The met office has advised the growers to weed out undesirable plants from standing crops and finish timely harvesting to make field for Kharif season cultivation. The office in its 10-day farmers advisory urges the growers to avoid irrigating their crops in upper half agriculture plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, central and northern Punjab.

It says farmers of lower half including Southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan should complete harvesting/threshing of crops with a view to start timely cultivation of Kharif crops. It forecasts rainfall/thunderstorm for upper and central parts of Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, scattered rain upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and isolated rainfall in Balochistan during the period.
