LAHORE: (29 March, 2013) The Federal Ministry of National Food Security & Research (NFS&R), Government of Punjab, Four Brothers Group, Seed Association of Pakistan, Kanzo Quality Seed, WFP and FAO are jointly organizing two days Provincial Consultative Workshop on National Food and Nutrition Security Policy on 29th March, 2013 at PC Hotel-Lahore, to initiate consultative process for formulation of national food and nutrition security policy which will lead to the establishment of the National Food Security Council, National Food Safety and Animal & Plant Regulatory Authority and formulation of the National Zero Hunger Program and its implementation.

Sustainable food availability and access to food, stability in food prices, food and nutrition information systems, monitoring and evaluation of food safety and security are the main areas to be discussed in the workshop.

Abdul Basit Khan, Additional Secretary (NFS&R), Muhammad Irfan Elahi, Secretary Livestock Punjab, Dr Iftikhar Ahmed, Chairman Pakistan Agriculture Research Council, Mohammad Imran Amjad, CEO PAMCO, Dr Hamid Jalil, Agro Livestock expert and other renowned agriculturalists and other stakeholders will participate in the consultative workshop for their valued suggestions.
