Agriculture: Spring Festival 2013 (Commencing from March 26 to 31)
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad, which has th earned 158 position in the top world universities, is marking new chapters of success inland and abroad by its agenda of internationalization, outreach activities, and entrepreneurial initiatives imparting to the rural population of the province. Universities are meant to be the higher seats of learning and creating new knowledge, translating the knowledge into goods and services and also disseminating to the masses and industry.
Recently, the government has re-appointed Prof Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan as Vice Chancellor for another four years on the bases of his vibrant leadership and acclaimed services to further execute his future vision about the University development and agriculture at large.
UAF is staging Spring Festival commencing from March 26. It brings colourful events including farmers’ convention, agricultural exhibition, flower show, fancy bird show, horse and cattle show, cultural shows, grey hound race as well as international seminar and conferences etc. The festival, which is attracting tens of thousands of visitors hailing from four corners of the country has become a regular feature of outreach.

The University has been holding festivals twice in a year for the last five years to give awareness to the masses about agricultural echnologies and innovations. It provides a platform to the farming community to interact with scientists/experts and get know-how about modern agricultural and livestock practices. Such interactions are proven opportunities to pave a way for the development in the shape of increasing productivity of various crops, fruits, vegetables and livestock.
The galas hone the skills of students who take part in the different activities and showcase their innovative ideas in front of a large gathering. The Festival has become a source of enjoyment for the local community. It also provides a recognized platform for Industrialists to display their brands and products for the farming community, members of civil society, and other stakeholders engaged in agro-based industry.
