Water inflow in the four live rivers has temporarily increased after widespread rains occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab including Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Metrological department said here on Tuesday. It said strong western system is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist for next 24 hours. This strong weather system is expected to generate more rains with snowfall over the hills in upper parts of the country during the period.
It said water inflow in river Indus has increased from 20,600 cusecs to 37,200 cusecs at Tarbela, from 11,374 cusecs to 24,800 cusecs in river Jehlum at Mangla and in river Chenab from 6,000 to 25,000 cusecs.
