PHC vacates stay on meat, poultry export to Afghanistan

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday vacated stay on export of poultry and cattle to Afghanistan after assurance from the poultry and dairy farm association that price of chicken (broiler) would not exceed Rs285 per kilogram and of meat Rs270 per kilogram in the market. A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Mrs Justice Irshad Qaiser also fixed a fine of Rs2 million on Poultry Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter and Rs10 million fine on Dairy Farm Associations of KP and Pakistan if the fixed maximum rates of poultry and meat were violated.
