
LUCKNOW, Oct 22, 2012: State Chief Minister Ahilesh Yadav has displayed opposition to the Food Ministry’s recent recommendation for the National Food Security Bill, whereby 33% of population would be excluded from the Public Distribution System.
The Chief Minister wrote to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has objected to the formula of uniform exclusion, which speaks that 33% of population in all states would be excluded from the benefits of the food security programme.
Yadav stated that the elementary fairness needs the coverage of PDS to be wider in the poorer states.
